Project Overview

Dublin Airport is the main international airport for Ireland with an AADT of over 30,000 during peak hours and an average daily footfall of over 12,000.

The project involved the construction and realignment of existing 2km of exit/entrance roads from Dublin Airport’s main terminal building from a two-lane carriageway to a four-lane carriageway with associated footways and cycle paths. Works also involved tying into the main roundabout at the entrance to Dublin Airport along with the construction of a new dedicated 0.5km Terminal 2 exit road and the construction of two new coach and car park areas.

All works were completed within a live operational airport environment with no works allowed to impede on the operational running of the airport. Works were carried out 24/7 dependent on the location and within restricted windows in accordance with the contract documents to ensure there was no impact on the running of the airport.
