A1 Craighall Junction
Date: May 5, 2022
We are delighted to have commenced work on the A1 Craighall Junction in Edinburgh for East Lothian Council. The works involve the construction of a grade separated junction that includes a new northbound on slip-road to the A1, a new off slip-road from the A1 northbound carriageway which will meet a newly constructed roundabout, providing arms to a future development area, along with a link road to the existing junction at Queen Margaret University. The new link road will pass beneath the A1 within a new precast portal frame structure with a minimum headroom of 5.3m and internal clear span of 15.6m. Extensive temporary works and 24/7 maintenance of traffic flows on the A1 are key aspects of this project.
