Alcon Laboratories have appointed John Paul Construction as main contractor for the upgrade works to their existing sterile production facility at Model Farm Road Business and Technology Centre.

This multi-phase project incorporates internal alterations within the existing manufacturing plant, comprising building works, demolitions, strip out of equipment and services, new floors, walls and ceilings along with installation of new plant and equipment.

The works include extensive modifications to existing services and installation of new services including electrical and mechanical works, sprinkler modifications, ventilation to fume hoods, piping, lighting and power to new items of plant and the installation of a new generator.

The site is restricted by the operational requirements of the manufacturing facility which remains in production throughout the course of the works.
