Project Overview

The design and build of a new turnkey 110 – 20kV substation to deliver power to a large data centre campus. The finished development consists of two distinct compounds, one operated by Eirgrid as the primary power supplier and the second operated by our client to service a live data centre campus. The scope also included the construction of two separate cable interconnectors to adjacent substations located off the campus, one almost 1.5km away. This necessitated extensive traffic management works, and also included a 160m long Horizontal Directional Drill under a busy road junction.

As part of our scope we took the design from outline to detailed stage, including managing the statutory approval process with An Bord Pleanala through an SID Application. We also managed all approvals and consultation with Eirgrid and the ESB.

We delivered the complete M&E fitout to all buildings in accordance with client and Eirgrid specifications, including placement of two transformers and the associated testing and commissioning. We also constructed the compound entrance roads, footpaths, a client control building, GIS, and four transformer plinths / bunds.
