College Green, Dublin 2
John Paul Construction has commenced work on a financial landmark building at the corner of Dublin’s College Green and Church Lane for Clarendon Properties. The protected structure which dates back to 1868 was purpose built as a bank will now house a flagship store for fashion giant H&M. H&M, the world’s second largest fashion retailer, will occupy floor space over four levels – the basement, ground, mezzanine, first and second floors. The remaining floors overhead will be converted into eight luxury apartments. The façade of the building fronting on to College Green has remained largely unaltered since the 1870’s along with many internal original features including significant plasterwork and the ornate 19th century banking hall. Work is scheduled for completion November 2014.
