University Hospital Galway – Radiation Oncology Centre
Date: September 28, 2020
As part of the HSE’s National Plan for Radiation Oncology, we have been appointed to construct a new state-of-the -art radiation oncology centre in the grounds of University Hospital Galway.
The new centre, over 3 floors will provide six radiotherapy treatment bunkers with radiation shielding walls, 2 CT rooms, on-treatment support and ancillary physics, treatment planning, administration facilities, external landscaping and a new 38 space surface carpark. The new building will be connected to the existing hospital via a single storey corridor. The hospital will remain fully operational throughout the works, requiring ongoing liaison and coordination with Hospital staff and management.
